Learning Disabilities / ADD

  • Stress the importance of good study habits and effective time management.
  • Keep all information confidential.
  • Give timely feedback to the student; errors need to be corrected as soon as possible.
  • Give praise when merited; it builds confidence.
  • Discuss with the student learning strategies which have worked well for them. Do not hesitate to ask a student what adaptations, if any, are required in the classroom. The student is a valuable resource regarding his or her particular needs.
