What are your future endeavors? I hope to get my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, and to eventually start my own private practice

What are your hobbies? Do we college students even have time for hobbies?(o: Reading, watching movies, spending time with friends, and traveling (I love road trips!)

What has been your greatest challenge while at MU? Self discovery and self-acceptance have been my greatest challenges. Not unlike the transformation that almost every college student goes through during their university years, MU has been about discovering who I am, and who I want to be as a person; being comfortable in my own skin, and standing tall in that.

What would you like people to know about your disability? My Multiple Sclerosis is quite literally a visible part of me, but it isn't even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to who I am as a person. There are limitations which it presents me with, but limitations are meant to make us stronger, and to teach us what it is to truly be able to overcome. The greater the challenge the sweeter the victory.

What would you tell a student who has a disability like yours? You are awesome, and you are capable; even though you may fall down there is no reason not to get up again, with just as much faith and perseverance as you had before.

What advice would you give to a new student at MU? Never allow anyone, no matter who they are, no matter what their status, to tell you that you are incapable of achieving everything that you wish to while here at MU; your potential is unlimited, and your possibilities are endless. Also, it is essential for you not to hesitate to ask for any help that you might need-there are so many sources of it here on campus-from Disability Services to other organizations, Residence hall staff and university faculty. There are more people out there who are willing to help than you might think; and asking for it is not taking advantage, or being weak-everyone no matter who they are needs help sometimes, and there is no shame in that.

In what way did the Office of Disability Services make a difference in your education? It sounds terribly cliché to say it, but I can't really think of a way in which the Office of Disability Services did not make a difference in my education. The staff helped me in everything from facilitating communication with my professors to finding the courage to keep going when I was having a bad day. I don't even consider the staff to be simply that anymore, many of them have honestly become my close friends. I could not have made it through my undergraduate career without them; and this coming from a person who did not even want to sign up with Disability Services at first!! Becoming involved with Disability Services was one of the best and most beneficial decisions that I made in terms of helping to make my college experience be a positive and successful one.
